Vanilla is considered the “queen of spices”. Even the Aztecs spiced their famous chocolate drink with vanilla. The vanilla pod is the fruit of the capsule of a species of orchid native to Mexico. The hand-pollinated flowers produce fruits that are ready to harvest after around 8 months, and undergo a complicated fermentation process. The pods change color and develop their full aroma. The exquisite, intense taste of vanilla is highly appreciated and harmonizes perfectly with our black tea blend.
