The product

In 1833, Earl Grey, the Earl of Howick Hall, then British Prime Minister, abolished the East Indian Company’s price monopoly in the tea trade with China. Tea underwent long sea crossings to royal England, during which the musty, tarry taste of the holds could seep into the leaves. As a result, the original pure tea was enriched with fine oils of bergamot, a lemony plant, before departure. Even today, this additional, protective fragrance is characteristic of the popular name synonymous with the finest English tea.
Our tasting recommendations: 5-minute infusion at 100° C water temperature 4-5 teaspoons per liter
